Product Description

RTV 106 is a high temperature, industrial grade silicone adhesive and sealant formulated for demanding applications exposed to heat, vibration and harsh conditions. This one-part, acetoxy cure RTV silicone cures on exposure to moisture in the air, forming a flexible rubber seal.

Designed for industrial use, RTV 106 provides excellent resistance to weathering, temperature extremes, moisture, vibration, ultraviolet exposure and many chemicals. Once cured, it remains permanently flexible and delivers reliable sealing and bonding performance.

Applications

Surface Preparation

• Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dirt, grease, oil or water

• Clean using methylated spirits or mechanical cleaning

• Do not use soap or detergent

Application Instructions

1. Clean surface with a non-oil based solvent and allow to dry

2. Cut nozzle to desired bead size

3. Apply sealant, pushing ahead of nozzle for a uniform bead

4. Tool within 10 minutes

5. Tack-free in approximately 20 minutes

6. Normal curing time: 24 hours

7. Full bond strength develops in approximately 7 days, depending on substrate permeability and exposed sealant area

• Use within 12 months

• Store below 25°C

Restrictions

• Most paints do not adhere

• May corrode copper, brass and sensitive metals

• Not recommended for below water-line applications

• Do not use on concrete, masonry or mortar

Clean Up

• Wipe off excess sealant immediately

• Clean tools and surfaces with mineral turpentine
