Fire retardant intumescent acrylic sealant with. Intumescent at temperatures above 250°C, prevents penetration of smoke and fire.

Applications

Ideal a wide range of fire rated sealing applications in construction and industrial including fire resistant interior applications, sealing compound for cracks in concrete and plaster, connection joints in the building industry, joints with movements up to 10%.

Description
Firecryl FR is a one‑component, fire‑resistant, smoke‑tight, intumescent, plasto‑elastic sealant based on acrylic dispersion.

• Substrates: All common porous building substrates; surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dust; highly porous surfaces should be primed with diluted Firecryl FR (1 part Firecryl FR + 2 parts water); not suitable for natural stone, bitumen, glass and metal—preliminary adhesion testing is recommended

Application Method
Apply with a manual or pneumatic caulking gun. Finish with a spatula or putty knife. Do not apply when rain or frost is imminent during curing. Clean uncured material with water; before skin formation, finish using a soapy solution or Soudal Finishing Solution. Repairs can be made using the same material.

Remarks & Limitations

• Do not use in applications with continuous water immersion

• Paintable with most paints, provided the paint is sufficiently elastic for use over a plasto‑elastic sealant

• Conduct compatibility testing due to variations in paints
