Full Description

U-POL P40/S (ISOPON P.40) is a two-component polyester fibreglass filler specifically designed for bridging holes and rust damage in metal panels. Its reinforced formula provides a tough, long-lasting repair that can fill holes up to 75 mm across.

With a fast gel time (4–7 minutes depending on temperature and hardener ratio), P.40 sands down easily after just 15–20 minutes, allowing you to progress quickly to priming and painting. Once cured, it is water-resistant, ensuring durability even in harsh environments.

Application details:

• Mix with benzoyl peroxide (BPO) hardener (3–5% depending on temperature)

• Maximum fill depth per layer: 4–7 mm

• Sanding: Start with P80–P120, finish with P180–P240

• Recommended prep: Clean and degrease (SYSTEM 20), abrade bare steel (P80), aluminium/painted surfaces (P180), fibreglass (P180). For large holes, reinforce with aluminium mesh.

Finish: Can be skimmed with standard filler or painted directly with solvent- or water-based paint systems. For best adhesion and finish, use a SYSTEM 20 primer before painting.
